ATHT 8130  THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS I (3 credits)

This course will cover the pathophysiology of musculoskeletal injuries as well as the theory, physiology and application of physical agents used in the treatment of these injuries. This course will include the development of treatment programs involving these skills utilizing hands-on practical application. This course introduces foundational theories and principles of athletic injury rehabilitation, with emphasis on the application of therapeutic exercise. Students will develop comprehensive rehabilitation programs and engage in hands-on laboratory experiences to apply these concepts in clinical practice. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to determine and implement appropriate treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning strategies for patients, integrating anatomic, physiologic, and biomechanical considerations specific to the lower extremity.
