CMST 4140  COMMUNICATION AND HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS (3 credits)

This course is designed to help students develop confidence and competence in communicating within interpersonal relationships, including romantic partnerships, friendships, family relationships, and professional interactions. It introduces students to the study, analysis, and practical application of key communication theories and variables related to interpersonal communication. The course explores the nature of communication processes that occur in close relationships and is organized around three primary areas: (1) initiating and developing relationships, (2) sustaining healthy and satisfying relationships, and (3) managing relational challenges as they evolve over time.

Prerequisite(s): Junior or Senior standing, or permission of instructor. Not open to non-degree graduate students.
