EDL 8210 EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP FOUNDATIONS AND PRINCIPLES (6 credits)
This course introduces candidates to key principles and concepts in educational leadership and organizational theory, including mission-driven leadership, relationship building, collaboration, communication, ethical decision-making, and goal setting. The course has two primary goals: to help aspiring and practicing school leaders understand schools as complex organizations, and to support the development of a positive and informed philosophy of leadership and its processes. Emphasis is placed on the intentional development of educational leadership dispositions, shared language, and conceptual frameworks that promote ethical, engaging leadership and continuous improvement.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to UNO Graduate Studies or department permission.
