EDL 8230 EDUCATION LEADERSHIP GOVERNANCE, LAW AND HUMAN RESOURCES (6 credits)
This course examines the traditions, guides, rules, and statutes that are core knowledge which guide the actions and decisions of school leaders. Educational policy, law, and local, state, and federal roles are explored from their traditions to current development. Human resource structures of systems leadership are studied to analyze continuous improvement policies and practices in evaluation, recruiting, retention, and other leadership roles. Advocating for fair and reliable supports for all people and groups in a professional leadership capacity creates proactive leaders in education.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to UNO Graduate Studies or department permission.
