ENGL 4240 TEACHING LATINO LITERATURE (3 credits)
This course is designed specifically for current or future teachers of high school students. It introduces pedagogical approaches of contemporary literature by Latinos/as in the United States. The course provides an overview of Mexican American, Chicano/a, and other Latino/a voices in American literature from mid-19th Century to the present and complement that with social, cultural, historical and other approaches to developing teaching strategies.
