HEKI 8050 ANATOMY FOR HEALTH SCIENCE EDUCATORS (3 credits)
This course is intended for current or future teachers interested in the Health Science Education Endorsement. This course will primarily teach the structure and function of the body's systems, focusing on the musculoskeletal system. The basic structure and function of the cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, digestive, endocrine, and lymphatic systems will be introduced. In addition, students will learn about common and innovative pedagogical approaches to teaching anatomy to P-12 students. This will include leveraging innovative technology such as 3d-printed models, smartphone applications, dissection tables, and virtual reality, among others.
