HIST 4610  TUDOR AND STUART ENGLAND (3 credits)

English history from the end of the Wars of the Roses in 1485 to the death of Queen Anne in 1714. The course will examine the efforts of the Tudors and Stuarts to establish dynasties, the religious upheavals in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, changes in the role of Parliament, the Civil Wars, and the beginning of English overseas expansion.
