HIST 8166 THE EARLY AMERICAN REPUBLIC: FROM THE CONSTITUTION TO THE SECOND PARTY SYSTEM (3 credits)
This course covers an important period of American history beginning with the first federal government and ending with an analysis of the consolidation of the Second American Party system. Topics to be covered include the earliest debates over the nature of the federal government, foreign relations, the emergence of political parties, and the rise of the Jacksonian democracy.
