A survey of the history, organization and social significance of the mass media, including newspapers, radio, television, books, magazines, advertising, public relations and films.

Journalism and Media Communication Minor

Students may earn a minor in Journalism and Media Communication with courses selected from JMC offerings. To fulfill the minor, students must complete 18 hours in JMC offerings with 9 of th ose credit hours in JMC 1500 , JMC 2100 , and JMC 2200 . Within the JMC major, students may not have a minor in another concentration besides the primary concentration they have selected for their major. For exampl e, students following the emerging media concentration cannot minor in the PR/Ad concentration. All courses in the minor must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher.
