MATH 8105 APPLIED COMBINATORICS (3 credits)
This course studies problems of counting, selecting, arranging, and constructing elements within a finite or discrete system. The course covers basic counting methods, generating functions, recurrence relations, principle of inclusion-exclusion, Polya's formula, and elements of probability theory. (Cross-listed with CSCI 3100, CSCI 8105, MATH 3100).
Prerequisite(s): MATH 2030, MATH 2230, or CSCI 2030 all with a C- or better.
