MUS 2820 INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC INDUSTRY (3 credits)
This course provides an initial survey of the historical and modern music industry. Students learn about the interdisciplinary nature of the music industry by exploring careers in prototypical record companies, publishing companies, arts management, and self-funded entrepreneurship. Other topics include pathways to commercialization of intellectual property and current trends in the music industry.
Prerequisite(s): Music major or permission of instructor.
