SOWK 8080 HUMAN BEHAVIOR AND THE SOCIAL ENVIRONMENT II (3 credits)
Human Behavior and the Social Environment II (HBSE II) is the second of two required sequential foundation level courses in the MSW curriculum. This course covers the major contributions of theories from the biological, behavioral, and social sciences relevant to understanding human functioning across the life span, particularly young adulthood through late adulthood. This course focuses on the reciprocal relationships between human behavior and social environments within the context of micro- and macro-level social systems (e.g., individuals, families, groups, institutions, organizations, and communities) as they relate to effective generalist social work practice.
