TED 2050  INTRODUCTION TO TEACHING ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (3 credits)

This course offers teacher candidates an introduction to the linguistic, social, political, and cultural factors that impact the teaching of Multilingual Learners (MLs) entering the United States school system. As dedicated practitioners, reflective scholars, and responsible citizens, undergraduate students will study best practices for MLs in the mainstream classroom that promotes language and cultural understanding among students and teachers.

Prerequisite(s): Not open to non-degree graduate students.
