TED 3100  COMMUNITY EDUCATION: TEACHING & PRACTICE IN INFORMAL ENVIRONMENTS (3 credits)

Informal education environments, such as museums, zoos, special-interest clubs, as well as summer camps, and after-school programs, offer expansive possibilities for learning outside of formal schooling. In this course, we will examine educational theory, practice, research, and evaluation associated with learning in informal contexts. Students will have the opportunity to work on collaborative service-learning projects with community partners who offer informal learning programs.
