TED 8140 SPECIAL METHODS IN MULTILINGUAL LEARNERS EDUCATION: CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE TEACHING FOR MULTILINGUAL (3 credits)
This course is designed to develop theoretical knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices and connect them to practical skills that support multilingual learners (MLs). All four language domains will be emphasized, and specific strategies will be acquired to enhance these domains in every lesson. This course requires a 25-hour practicum. It's an in-school, guided practicum completed within a highly populated ML classroom with an ML teacher or building supervisor as a mentor teacher. This is the final practicum to earn an ESL endorsement. Districts use different terminology (ESL, EL, ELL, etc.). For consistency, this course will use the term ML.
Prerequisite(s): Pre-requisite TED 8120. This class requires a 25-hour practicum.
