TED 8870  RESEARCH WITH CHILDREN (3 credits)

This class will focus on research methods and methodologies specific for conducting research with children (birth-17 years). Graduate students will learn how to read, review, analyze and interpret significant research studies that engage directly with children and learn how to design and conduct research that ethically respects children as participants in research. The pedagogical aim is to understand key concepts and critical thinking about research methodologies with children. Graduate students will read research that positions children of different economic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds as valuable assets in research and recognizes ethical ways to engage with children in authentic settings.

Prerequisite(s): Graduate standing.
